Hi, I am Johanna.

Intrigued by the power of the mind-body connection, my introduction to yoga and meditation eight years ago has had an immense impact on how I move and think through life. Since then, yoga has served as an anchor, guiding me through life’s ups and downs.

Driven by my passion for yoga, I took a semester off from my psychology studies to delve deeper into the practice and embarked on my journey to become a 200h certified Yoga Teacher in November 2022 under the guidance of the incredible teachers Lisa Andersson Rhodiner and Elin Jensen with True North Vinyasa.

Returning back to Basel, I immediately began teaching, something I had not anticipated, when I started this journey. But once started, I fell in love with teaching and am so incredibly grateful to be able to share what I love.

As I continue to pursue my Master’s degree in Psychology, I cherish the balance of exploring the mind in my studies and integrating that knowledge into my personal practice as well as my teachings.

What Yoga means to me.

Yoga to me is more than just the physical practice of Asanas.

During my classes I like to weave mindfulness and Yoga philosophy into the physical practice of Asanas, with the aim of guiding you to more self-awareness, self-assurance and self-empowerment.

As I lead you through creative and flowing Vinyasa sequences, I maintain a slow and steady pace to give you the opportunity to fully engage with each pose, without feeling pressured to rush through them.

I envision my classes as dynamic meditations, inviting you to connect to your breath and inner being, and remaining mindful throughout each pose and transition, whether the focus is on strength, flexibility or cultivating more calmness.

Most importantly, however, I encourage you to honor your body’s wisdom and needs, as every body has their unique anatomy and experiences movement differently.
